What does “date the rate, marry the house” really mean?
My team is here to provide you with the best resources to adequately guide your clients in this market. I’m sure you’ve heard this phrase many, many times “date the rate, marry the house”.
As you know, this means Buy the House you want NOW. If and when rates become more favorable, you can always refinance to better terms.
But here’s the kicker- how do we get people to really understand that message?
Here at Fountain Mortgage, we’ve come out with a product called Rate Romance. This has been available for a few months now and is also available to clients who have purchased with us in the past.
Here’s an example. Let’s say a client is not happy with their rate. This rate romance product is going to allow them to refinance with us - for absolutely no additional cost to them. We will waive all refinance costs when they are ready to refinance their mortgage – that means:
No origination fee
No underwriting fee
No appraisal free
No credit report fee
No settlement fees
No title fees
We are taking care of all of that for your buyers during their refinance so that they can buy now with confidence and know that should rates become more favorable- we are here for them!
We can help get them into that new rate for absolutely no charge.
This is a fantastic way to guide your clients and instill confidence, even if current market conditions may seem a bit tumultuous.
This will help your clients to “marry the house” and “date the rate”. I’m here to help them with the refi- pay for the breakup and the hookup- with a much better looking rate in the near future.
